MOMAR 101: Getting Ready For the MOMAR

MOMAR 101 is for new and experienced Adventure Racers who would like a comprehensive introduction to the adventure racing and navigation skills needed to successfully complete a MOMAR race and other shorter adventure races.

This one day course is easy enough for beginning racers and challenging enough for those who want to polish more advanced racing and navigation skills. Be prepared for plenty of inside racing tips specific to the MOMAR! Limited to 8 participants per clinic.

Orienteering 101

An introduction to orienteering! No previous experience is required for this great course that mixes theory with a fun orienteering exercise. In this course you will gain:

  • Overview of the sport of orienteering
  • Understanding of navigation
  • How to use a map and compass
  • Tips, tricks and tools of the trade

Orienteering 201

Advanced Orienteering for Adventure Racing or Trekking! Learn more advanced orienteering techniques such as pacing and terrain recognition then head to the hills for a 5 or 10km trekking event to practice your skills.

Adventure Mix!

Each session includes an outdoor run, indoor spin, core training and  flexibility session.  The perfect cross-training workout for all fitness enthusiasts!

Whether you are a seasoned adventure racer, new to the sport, or you have no desire to race and are simply looking for a great workout, this cross-training clinic will motivate  you to push your upper limits!

Attention Adventure Racers, Runners, Triathletes and Bikers:  This specialized   clinic will keep you motivated all winter and get you in fantastic shape for the upcoming season!  Training  will include specific exercises designed to improve your core stability, functional strength and power.

  • 30-minute run- Intervals, hills, and speed work.  Interval training means you can work at your own level and everyone gets a challenging workout.
  • 30 minute indoor spin cycling. Variety is the spice of life! We will take you through undulating courses, long slow climbs, and speed work for the flats that are designed to get you ready for biking season or simply make you sweat!
  • 15 minute CORE, cooldown & stretch.  A thorough stretch will round out your training session and let you relax after this serious workout.

Prerequisite: Ability to run 30 minutes, no biking experience required for spinning.

TRI-FIT!  Triathlon Training

Swim, bike, run your way to fitness! It is always more fun in a group!

This 6-week triathlon clinic will get you ready for the Comox Valley Tri-K ( May 15) or the sprint distance triathlon of your choice.  Always wanted to do a triathlon but not sure where to start?  Or maybe you can already complete the Sprint distance but you want to improve your time, technique and training.  Here is your chance to train with a group that is lead by qualified trainers & coaches! 

Programs available for first time Beginners up to Intermediate recreational triathlon racers.
